After the success in La Rioja — plays with Yanguas in Chile
Leo Augsburger and Tino Libaak are making success in the La Rioja Open and have reached the quarter-finals for the first time.
Nevertheless, Augsburger chooses to play with Mike Yanguas in the upcoming Chile Padel Open.
Spanish website Relevo reveals that super talent Leo Augsburger will be paired with Mike Yanguas for the upcoming WPT Chile Padel Open.
Leo Augsburger and Tino Libaak have had great success in the La Rioja Open, reaching the quarter-finals with a wild card. That means that Tino Libaak, at the age of 17, became the youngest person ever to reach the quarter-finals of a World Padel Tour tournament.
Mike Yanguas usually plays with Alejandro Arroyo, who will miss all three tournaments in South America due to injury.
Second chance
A couple of weeks ago, Libaak and Augsburger failed to qualify for the Chile Padel Open, losing the qualification final to Spanish promises Daniel Santigosa and David Gala in Madrid.
Instead, Augsburger gets another chance by taking Arroyo's place in the main tournament.
The possibility of playing alongside Yanguas will take place because the Argentinean lost in the last round of the tournament.
The WPT rules state the following:
"If one of the components of a couple already registered and qualified for the Final Draw, during the time in which the Preliminary Phase ended and up to 5 days before the start of the Final Draw, causes a justified cancellation of the tournament, his partner may choose one of the players of a couple that has lost the 1/4 finals of the Preliminary Draw of the corresponding Tournament".
