After the World No. 1s: Lima and Nieto also withdraw from La Rioja Open
Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan withdraw at the last second from the WPT event in La Rioja, Argentina.
Now Pablo Lima and Coki Nieto are doing the same.
This means that two top pairs will not be playing in the World Padel Tour's La Rioja Open in Argentina. At this stage, why the pairs will not be playing is unknown.
Last week, Premier Padel's first event of the year, the Qatar Major, was played. Both teams went out in the quarterfinals — a failure for Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron, who lost to Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz.
The withdrawals mean that Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutierrez are now the first-seeded team in the tournament, and Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello are the second.
Pablo Lima is making his final season as a professional padel player. According to reports, the veteran has an inflamed knee after the Qatar Major and is opting out of the first WPT event in South America.
The World Padel Tour's Chile Padel Open is the next competition after Argentina.
Padel Alto is seeking the players for a comment.
