Sad news for the couple — withdraws from three WPT tournaments

ANNONS

Alejandro Arroyo and Mike Yanguas will not play in the World Padel Tour competitions in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay.
The reason is an injury to Arroyo.

The new season is off to the worst possible start for the new couple, Alejandro Arroyo and Mike Yanguas. After only two tournaments into the season, the pair are now forced to withdraw from the following three WPT tournaments: the La Rioja Open, the Chile Padel Open, and the Paraguay Padel Open.

The reason is an abdominal injury sustained by Alejandro Arroyo during the Premier Padel Major in Qatar.

”After a discomfort that I've been dragging in the last Premier Padel tournament, it has been confirmed that I have a tear in the abdomen,” Arroyo writes on his social media channels.

The 12-seeded pair is already entered in all tournaments, and the qualifiers have already been played or started. Therefore, it is also impossible for Mike Yanguas to change partners temporarily for any of these tournaments.

”Now it's time to focus on recovering as soon as possible to be 100% for the following tournaments,” Arroyo writes.

Both players had irregular seasons with mixed results last year. In WPT´s first tournament of this season, the couple went out in the Round of 16, and in Premier Padels Qatar Major, they lost to Lebron and Galan in the same round.

After the World Padel Tour competitions in South America, the Reus Open, outside Barcelona, awaits.
