Bela and Sanyo won — Argentinian final awaits in Qatar

ANNONS

Fernando Belasteguin, 44 in two months, and Sanyo Gutierrez showed that the level is still there, winning the semi-final against Spanish pair Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz. Now an Argentinian final awaits in Qatar.

Tomorrow sees the first Premier Padel final between four Argentinian players as veterans Fernando Belasteguin and Sanyo Gutierrez take on compatriots Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno.

Bela and Sanyo won their semi-final against the Spanish pair from Malaga, Alex Ruiz, and Momo Gonzalez in a match that was much slower-paced than the semi-final earlier in the day.

Gonzalez and Ruiz showed during the second set what class they have and took a lot from the game they showed in the quarterfinals against Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan.

The final score was 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in a hard-fought match. Sanyo and Bela showed, as they have so many times before, that they often win the decisive third set when everything is on the line, despite being down 0-2 at the start of the third set.

If Fernando Belasteguin wins the title tomorrow, it will be the 231st of his career. A record that is impossible to beat for all time.
