Surprise in Qatar — Campa and Sanchez knock out third seeds

Maxi Sanchez and Lucas Campagnolo left Juan Tello and Paquito Navarro, defending champion in 2022, out of the Premier Padel Qatar Major.

After coming back from a tough match on the opening day, Paquito Navarro and Juan Tello faced the ninth seeds of the tournament, Maxi Sanchez and Lucas Campagnolo, for the round of 16.

Once again, Tello and Navarro had a patchy start to the match. The number third seed duo showed disconnection on court, and Campagnolo and Sanchez took advantage to take the first set.

After the poor start, Paquito and Tello switched positions again, and although they tried to come back in the second part, they couldn't keep up with their opponents, who stayed focused throughout the match. After an hour and a half, Campagnolo and Sanchez secured their win with 6/3 and 7/5.

This Friday, in the quarterfinals of the Ooredoo Qatar Major, the Argentinean-Brazilian pair will face Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who had no problems to beat Moyano and Gil by 6/2 6/3.
