Surprise in Abu Dhabi — young stars knock out world number threes

The newly formed pairing of Jessica Castello and Claudia Jensen eliminated the number three pairing of the tournament, Marta Ortega and Bea Gonzalez, in the last 16 of the WPT Abu Dhabi Master.

The pairing of Jessica Castello and young Argentinean star Claudia Jensen pulled off the surprise of the day on Thursday, when they eliminated Bea Gonzalez and Marta Ortega in the last 16 of the World Padel Tour Abu Dhabi Master.

After starting behind in the scoreboard, the number 10 ranked duo managed to turn the result around, to take the match by 4/6 6/4 and 6/3, in 2 hours and 31 minutes of play. 

"We have worked very hard trying to have the best possible pre-season. Marta and Bea are showing why they are a pair three every day, so we are very happy to have been able to get the win," said Castello after the match.

Thus, the Spanish-Argentine team got their pass to the quarterfinals in their debut tournament. In the next round, they will face the winner of the match between the Sanchez Alayeto twins and Goenananga-Caldera.
