LA Galaxy is building a new park with padel and pickleball courts at its Carson complex in Los Angeles.

LA Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park have broken ground on a new park for racquet sports enthusiasts in the greater Los Angeles area.

The new sports center, Galaxy Park, will be located at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, home of the football franchise owned by the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG).

In the complex, there will be four modern padel courts where the fans can practice the sport and other recreational activities, all of which will be accessible to the public.

Operators of the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego have been selected to manage the various courts, including coordination and staffing for lessons, clinics, and tournaments.

“We have residents that play pickleball, we have residents that play padel, we have residents that play soccer, and they want premiere access, so this is that for the community,” said Jawane Hilton, Carson’s mayor pro tem.

And he added:

“We have people from all over that play these sports, and they don’t have a place to play them, but Dignity Health Sports Park offers that.”

The courts in the park are scheduled to open in mid-March for people to start using them, and a grand opening will be held later in June once all construction is complete.
