They are the first champions of the season — the youngest all-time winner
The newly formed pairing of Juani de Pascual and Gonzalo Alfonso were crowned champions of the first A1 Padel tournament of the season, after beating Allemandi and Aguirre in the final of the Cape Town Master.
The Argentine team formed by Gonzalo Alfonso and the young talent Juani de Pascual (18), became the first champions of the season, after beating the number two couple of the A1 Padel circuit, Allemandi and Aguirre, by 6/2 and 7/6.
Alfonso and De Pascual started the final of the Cape Town Master in crusher mode. They quickly got the lead on the scoreboard and then took the first set by a convincing 6/2 in just 29 minutes.
But Tito Allemandi and Tolito Aguirre responded in the second set. The number two pairing on tour evened up the match, taking the set to a tiebreak, where Alfonso and De Pascual finally prevailed.
"I am very happy for Juani, who at 18 years old has already won a professional tournament of this importance. This is just the beginning. The aim of the couple is to become more and more professional," said Alfonso after the match.
The first title of the season also meant the first professional title in the career of the young De Pascual, who became the youngest player to win an A1 Padel Tour Championship (APT).
