DETAILS: WPT and Premier Padel in negotiations to resolve the conflict
For the first time, the World Padel Tour and Premier Padel are negotiating a solution to the conflict that started in the international padel at the beginning of last year.
Since the launch of Premier Padel, backed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and supported by professional players, at the beginning of last season, there has been a war in international padel between the new circuit and the established World Padel Tour.
Information to Padel Alto now says that this conflict is one step closer to a solution. At least the parties are in negotiations with each other. Something that has not happened before.
The past year has been surrounded by the conflict, with lawsuits on both sides and statements from all parties.
The Spanish site Marca was the first to report the news.
According to the site, the talks began before the Master Final in Barcelona. The idea is that soon Estrella Damm (WPT), Qatar Sports Investments (Premier Padel), the International Padel Federation (FIP), and the Professional Padel Association (PPA) will meet to shape the new scenario.
This is a breakthrough, with the aim of rowing in a single direction so that padel continues to spread around the globe. It is not yet clear what the negotiations will lead to. Whether it concerns the game schedule, the ranking system, or other details that will make the circuits coexist.
A communiqué is, according to information from Padel Alto, reportedly due out shortly.
