Argentina's Delfina Brea and Portugal's Sofia Araujo will join forces in the 2023 season, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The dance of couples is coming to an end, and the new teams are beginning to take shape to face a season that looks set to be a long one.

Delfina Brea (17th) was one of the top players on the circuit who had not yet announced who she would play with. Now, Marca reveals she will form a new sports project with the 28-year-old Portuguese Sofia Araujo.

Brea had a complicated 2022 alongside Tamara Icardo, who was plagued by injuries throughout the season. The couple decided to break up after a year and a half together, and Brea finished the season with Marta Marrero.

Araujo had her project for 2023 confirmed alongside veteran Lucia Sainz, but the Spaniard surprisingly left the Portuguese backhand player to play alongside Argentina's Aranza Osoro.

Now, Brea and Araujo join forces in a new project looking to be protagonists in the women's circuit.
