He was awarded as the best Argentinian player of the year

Franco Stupaczuk was honoured as the best Argentinian player of the season with the Olimpia de Plata award, given by the Argentinian sports journalists’ association.

Franco Stupaczuk's year could be described as outstanding. The Argentinean player decided to change partners in April 2022, leaving Alex Ruiz to join Pablo Lima looking to get back to his game, and the results proved him right. 

The pair formed with the former world number one, consolidated as one of the best of the season, winning three titles and being protagonists in each of the tournaments, ending the year as number 4 in the FIP ranking.

In addition, the player born in the province of Chaco was crowned world champion with the Argentine national squad at the Dubai World Cup, giving his team a point in the final, alongside Martin Di Nenno.

Now, "Stupa" has been recognised in his country as the best (Argentinian) padel player of 2022 with the "Olimpia de plata", one of the most prestigious awards in Argentina, given by the circle of sports journalists.

The player shared the list with Fernando Belasteguin (he won 11), Martin Di Nenno (he won last year) and Daniela Banchero.
