Ale Galan deleted surprising tweet about WPT
Master winner Ale Galan thanked World Padel Tour bosses Alex Corretja (vice-president) and Mario Hernando (general manager) in a tweet that he later deleted.
The tweet could easily be interpreted as a taunt since Galan has been on Premier Padel's side throughout the tour conflict.
”Thank you to Alex Corretja and Mario Hernando for all you have done to unite the players,” stated the tweet from Ale Galan, which was later deleted.
Galan, president of the Players' Association (PPA), has repeatedly criticized the World Padel Tour throughout the year, showing his appreciation for the rival circuit Premier Padel.
For this reason, the tweet came as a big surprise, and the fact that it was later deleted suggests even more that this was once again a way of showing their displeasure with the WPT.
Two hours later, the tweet was updated (without the thank you to the WPT), where Galan thanked his followers on Instagram for the historically strong year. Galan and Lebron were in 15 finals on the World Padel Tour, winning ten. On Premier Padel, they were in six finals and took four tournament wins.
”Without a doubt, the best year of my life in sports.”
The thank you note also said:
”We finish 2022 with the goal. Also, the backpack is loaded with things to improve, which will be the fuel and motivation for the new year to come. Without a doubt the best year of my life in sports. We managed to become number one on Premier Padel and WPT. We have won 14 out of 30 tournaments. You've heard me say it's been a tough and challenging season. Over 30 weeks away, competing on two different tours,"' writes Galan in one part.
