OFFICIAL: These are the dates padel will debut in the European Games
This summer, padel will debut in the Krakow European Games. Now the dates for the padel games have arrived. It will be played between 21-25 June.
The dates are now official for this summer's European Games: from 21 to 25 June, padel will be played at the third edition of the European Games, scheduled to take place in Cracow from June 21 to July 2.
”It is a huge emotion, for all those who love padel, for those who play it, and for the athletes who have contributed to the growth of our discipline over the years. Looking at the five Olympic rings and seeing a padel racket in the background is the biggest reward for the hard, serious, unceasing work that has allowed us to be chosen by the European Olympic Committees”, the International Padel Federation President Luigi Carraro stated.
When padel as a sport was selected to participate in the European Games in 2021, the International Padel Federation said it was a big step towards participating in the Olympic Games in the future.
”We have always seen the European Games as an opportunity for inclusion and innovation. Adding padel 2023 alongside other established Olympic sports is a perfect example. I'm sure padel will contribute to the competition program and attract new audiences," Hasan Arat of the European Games Coordination Commission said.
More than 30 countries will compete with the best players on the court, FIP announces in the press release. In addition to the men's and women's tournaments, there will also be the mixed tournament: the pairs will be formed by a man and a woman.
