Book their place in the final in a first-class match
In the semifinals of the WPT Master Final, Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar got their pass to the final, after beating the number three ranked couple in a high level match by 6/4 7/5.
At the Palau Sant Jordi and in front of more than 12,000 spectators, Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar struggled to beat Bea Gonzalez and Marta Ortega, who showed an outstanding level.
Gonzalez and Ortega played an almost perfect match, but it was still not enough to counteract the number twos, who managed to strike at the key moments of a match that was defined by details, 6/4 7/5.
The level displayed by Bea Gonzalez in the aerial game, added to the consistency of Marta Ortega, made Triay and Salazar had to appeal to all their repertoire to get their pass to the final, looking for their fifth consecutive title.
Tomorrow Gemma and Ale will face Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, in a final that will not only be worth the title at stake, but also the number one of the world ranking.
