Turned around and won in the first match of the farewell tournament
The Argentinean duo of Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello turned the match around in their debut in Buenos Aires to continue at least one more day in their farewell tournament as a couple.
One of the most iconic pairs of world padel, Fede Chingotto and Juan Tello, are playing their farewell tournament at the World Padel Tour Master of Buenos Aires after more than seven years as a couple.
In the last match of Wednesday, in the round of 32, the Argentine duo managed to turn around a complicated match against the semifinalists of the Malmo Open, Gonzalo Rubio and Alex Arroyo, who almost spoiled the party.
The atmosphere in "La Rural" was fantastic, and the Argentinean fans supported the beloved local couple in what could be their last match together.
The game started very evenly matched, but the Spanish pair took advantage of the only opportunity they had to break their opponents' serve and take the first set 6/4.
But the Argentine couple didn't want to say goodbye that way and initiated the comeback. Chingotto and Tello went from strength to strength, and with a more aggressive game, they took the next two sets. The final result was 4/6, 6/3, and 6/4 for the locals, who got the ticket to the next round.
This Thursday, in the round of 16, "El Gato" and "El Raton" will face Spain's Oria and Ruiz at the second turn of the afternoon.
