Uri Botello to Padel Alto: ”WPT has put padel in a privileged place”

After 15 years as a top padel player, Uri Botello decided to retire after several injuries last summer. Now the Melilla son is up for a new role in the World Padel Tour’s Sports Department. This, despite the conflict between the PPA and WPT with their new proposal for 2023. 
— It does not benefit any parties, Botello says to Padel Alto. 

Uri Botello achieved great success as a player on the World Padel Tour. The skilled forehand player did over 300 matches and had 15 years on the tour. 

His achievements include reaching the top 10 in the rankings and winning two European Championships gold medals with Spain.

But his career came to an abrupt end last summer. After several injuries, he decided to quit at 33 years old, which he announced in an emotional post on his Instagram.
