Favorites withstood the pressure — face each other in the World Cup final

ANNONS

Spain is the clear favorite to win the women's World Cup. The clear runner-up in advance is Argentina. Now, the two dominants face each other in the World Cup finals.

Spain and Argentina face each other as expected in the Women's World Cup final. Once there, Spain will be a big favorite to win the final. The last time Argentina won the World Cup was in 2012; since then, Spain has won four titles in a row.

Since 1992, only Argentina and Spain have won the World Cup. Argentina eight, and Spain seven.

Spain dropped a total of three games in two matches against the big surprise Belgium. First, debutants Barbara Las Heras and Veronica Virseda took a 6-2, 6-0 win, and then Bea Gonzalez and Marta Ortega decided the match 6-0, 6-1.

Argentina had a slightly more challenging time against Italy in their semi-final. Virginia Riera and Daniela Banchero won their match 7-6, 6-3, and then Argentina's strongest team: Delfi Brea and Aranza Osoro, won 6-1, 6-3.

In the match for the third prize, Italy and Belgium meet tomorrow.
