Portugal is through to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Dubai after a surprise win over Brazil with top WPT players like Pablo Lima, Lucas Campagnolo, and Lucas Bergamini in the quarter-finals.

Brazil was the favorite to win the bronze medal at the World Cup after the favorites Argentina and Spain. But it all ended in the quarter-finals after a stunning turnaround by Portugal.

In the first match, as expected, Brazil won with Lucas Campagnolo and Lucas Bergamini in two sets. Then in the second match, Portugal tied the key match after the Deus brothers turned the match around and won the final set 6-1.

But in the decisive and third match, Brazil, with the big star and former world setter Pablo Lima and Lucas Cunha, were big favorites. They were pitted against APT player Miguel Oliveira and Afonso Ramos.

After 6-3 to Brazil in the first set, everyone thought that the favorites would win. But then something happened. In the second set, Oliveira and Ramos won 6-4 and then took the third set 7-5.

The Dubai World Cup is not Brazil's best championship. Earlier in the day, the women's team was eliminated after a scandal from the organizer.

Tomorrow Portugal faces Argentina in the semi-finals. In the other semi-final, Spain will face France. Portugal should have a good chance of winning the bronze medal in a forthcoming match for the third prize against France.
