Swedish Windahl on facing the number ones: ”Greater miracles have happened”
They knocked out experienced Juan Martin Diaz and young talent Alejandro Arroyo in the first Round of the Amsterdam Open. Now Swede Daniel Windahl and José Solano face the task of a lifetime in the Round of 16, where Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan await.
Qualification team Daniel Windahl and José Solano have four straight wins in Amsterdam. After knocking out teams like Toni Bueno/Marc Quilez and Alvaro Cepero/Jesus Moya in the qualifying, it was former world number one Juan Martin Diaz and Alejandro Arroyo who was knocked out in two straight sets in the first main Round of the Amsterdam Open yesterday.
— It was by far our best game together. We played a perfect defensive game and were explosive going forward, writes Windahl in a message to Padel Alto´s sister site PadelDirekt after the match.
”Tough task”
Now they face the best possible opposition when Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan are on the other side of the net on Thursday night in the Round of 16.
A team that will be hungry for revenge after their exit already in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Master.
— It is a very tough task. But good things can happen if we get the same feeling as today (read yesterday) and maybe one step up in our level. Greater miracles have happened, writes Daniel Windahl.
The match will be played as number two during the evening session starting at 17:00.
