Fourth straight tournament win for the new number ones: ”We found the solutions”
The excellent form never ends for Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, who now dominate the World Padel Tour. In the final of Madrid Master, they were down but turned it around in two straight sets and won easily in the last.
— We found the solutions, said Sanchez after the match.
Aranza Osoro and Victoria Iglesias started the match at a furious pace in their first World Padel Tour final together. The first set ended 6-4, and in the second set, the team broke Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria's serve to take the lead in that set as well.
But then it was great dominance from Sanchez and Josemaria. They took four straight games and quickly turned the match around. 6-2 in the second set became 6-1 in the third.
— We started with some doubts, but the whole team managed to find solutions. We had been winning the matches with a bit more confidence, but in this tournament, we have come back to remember what it is like to win while suffering, said Ari Sanchez after the match.
Victoria Iglesias suffered a leg injury that may have hindered the team slightly in the second and third sets.
Paula: ”Wasnt playing my best.”
The title in Madrid means that World Padel Tour's significant dominants and new world number one's Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria now have four straight tournament wins.
— That's a lot of matches with victories. We've been making a big effort, and I hope that the ceiling of this couple never comes, said Paula Josemaria.
She also takes the opportunity to pay tribute to her partner Sanchez, who has recently maintained an extremely high level on the court.
— I want to congratulate my partner because she held the match when I wasn't playing my best.
The next tournament to defend the title is the Amsterdam Open, which is coming up already this week.
