Lebron and Galan claim victory in Cascais final

ANNONS

Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan were crowned champions of the WPT Cascais Open after beating Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez in three sets in the final.

In Portugal, in the final of the first WPT Open after the summer break, the two most winning pairings of the year faced each other. On one side the number one pairing, Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron - who were defending their Cascais 2021 title - against the number three pairing Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez.

Lebron and Galan came out to the match very focused, and quickly managed to get two breaks on the opponent's serve, to take the first set by 6/2 in just 30 minutes. In the second set the game was even, until the tiebreak, where Tapia and Sanyo got a small difference to take the match to the final set. In the third set the number ones left no room for doubt and swept their opponents off the court to take the match 6/2 6/7 6/1.

"The four of us played a great game, and as always when we face them the games are defined by details." Juan Lebron said after the match.

Thus, Lebron and Galan managed to equal the number of World Padel Tour titles to Sanyo and Tapia (5 each), although the number one got the two Master championships, which gives them an advantage in the 2022 Race.

The pair will be back in action next Thursday in the last 16 of the Stockholm Open.
