Josemaria and Sanchez win in Cascais — after injury to Gonzalez

ANNONS

Josemaria and Sanchez played a good set and won the first 7-5. Then what was not supposed to happen happened. At 1-0 in the second, Bea Gonzalez injured her foot and was forced to abandon the match.

There was a surprise in yesterday's semi-finals when Marta Ortega and Bea Gonzalez won, knocking out world one's Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar.

But in today's final, the opposition was too tough in the first set. At the start of the second, Bea Gonzalez suffered an injury to the thigh that forced her to withdraw from the match.

Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria opened the fall season just as they ended the summer: to be crowned champions.

The last time they did, it was in Malaga, now in the Cascais Open.

The title in Cascais means the pair now have five titles this year on the World Padel Tour. The next competition will be in Stockholm, Sweden.
