Mouriño and Mena won the FIP Star competition in their first tournament together

The recently formed couple of Fede Mouriño and Victor Mena were proclaimed champions of the FIP Star Gran Canaria tournament, after beating Diego Gil and the talent Pablo Cardona in the final by 6-2, 7-6.

Federico Mouriño and Víctor Mena have proclaimed champions in their first tournament together, after beating Pablo Cardona and the local player Diego Gil in two sets at the final of the FIP Star Gran Canaria. 

The couple announced they would begin their joint project just two days before the beginning of the tournament, and barely a week later, they already have their first title as a team. 

"After a tough week, we won the final against two skilled players like Diego and Pablito, whom I congratulate for the tournament. Victor: it was our first tournament together, we had a goal, and we achieved it. I congratulate you for your level and for continuing to fight even when the result was against us," wrote the Argentinean after winning the title.

The duo will now face their next match on Tuesday, when they take on veteran Marcelo Jardim and his young couple Nicolas Zurita in the qualifying round of the WPT Bajo Aragon Challenger.
