Alex and Momo deliver the big blow in Mendoza

Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz gave the surprise in the quarter finals of the Premier Padel de Argentina, after eliminating Galan and Lebron by 6/4 and 6/4.

The number seven ranked couple, Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz got their pass to the semifinals of the Mendoza P1 after eliminating in two sets the last champions of Madrid, Ale Galan and Juan Lebron.

The match started evenly, but Alex and Momo managed to break their opponents' serve in the only chance they had, to take the first set. In the second part, Gonzalez and Ruiz played the perfect match, they were extremely solid and didn't let their opponents react, taking the encounter by 6/4 6/4. In this way the Malagueños broke the streak of 4 consecutive finals reached by Galan and Lebron in the circuit. 

"To win a match against the number one's you have to play at 200% and I think we did that today. My partner played an incredible match, and we are very happy to be in the semifinals," said Alex Ruiz after the victory.

Alex Ruiz will play tomorrow his second semifinal of the Premier Padel circuit - after reaching the semifinals of the first tournament in Doha with Stupaczuk - while for his partner Momo Gonzalez it will be the first opportunity to reach those instances. The Spanish couple will face this Saturday, the winner of the clash between Chingotto/Tello and Stupaczuk/Lima.
