ANNONS

Leonel Aguirre and Adrian Allemandi were crowned champions of the APT Canarias Open after beating Torre and Ramos 6/3 and 6/0 in the final.

The Argentinian duo Aguirre/Allemandi were crowned champions in the Canary Islands after showing an incredible level in the final, sweeping their rivals Torre and Ramos off the court in two sets.

"Tito" and "Tolito" came into the match after pulling off a surprise in the semifinals, knocking out number one seeds Arce and Dal Bianco, and they started the final in an impeccable way, taking a 3-0 lead. Although it was only a break that separated Aguirre and Allemandi from their rivals in the first set (6/3), the difference in the game was notorious. In the second set, the number 4 seeds overwhelmed their opponents, giving no room for a reaction and taking the set by a convincing 6/0.

"After losing last week we had a thorn in our side, because we had played a great tournament, and this week we were able to get the best out of ourselves to reverse it. We are very happy to be champions again" said Adrian Allemandi after the match.

In this way, the fourth ranked couple get their second APT title after 4 tournaments played since they joined as a pair, which will ensure them to climb positions after the next update of the ranking.

The APT Circuit will be back in action from 4 to 11 September, with the La Rioja Open (Argentina).
