Marta Marrero out of the Malaga Open

The couple number 4 of the women's ranking, Marta Marrero and Lucia Sainz, were left out of the WPT Malaga Open. The reason is that Marrero has tested positive for Covid

The match that was to be played today in the quarter finals of the Malaga Open between Marrero/Sainz and the Sanchez Alayeto twins will not take place, due to a justified WO of Marta Marrero, who was positive in the Covid-19 test. 

“As world padel tour has communicated, I will not be able to play the quarters today. the reason is that I tested positive in COVID. Now it's time to rest for a few days, but I'm doing fine, don't worry! I feel very bad for the team, in the last tournament before the break we were looking forward to do very well here in Malaga. Good luck to the twins for the rest of the tournament!” Said Marrero in her social media.

In this way, the Sanchez Alayeto twins advance directly to the semifinals, where they will face the winners of the match between Osoro/Iglesias and Sanchez/Josemaria.
