Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz to the final on home soil

In the first men's semi-final of the Marbella Master 2022, Ruiz/Gonzalez faced Chingotto/Tello. In a changing match, the local couple got their ticket to Sunday’s final by 6-2 3-6 7-6.

Both pairs were looking for their first final of the season, but the locals finally managed to take the victory in the tie break of the third set in a thrilling match.

At the start of the match, Alex Ruiz and Momo Gonzalez came out determined and took the first set 6-2 in just 30 minutes through aggressive play at the net. After the overwhelming start of the locals, the Argentinean couple's reaction came in the second set. Chingotto and Tello came from behind to level the match at one and took it to the third set. In the final set, everything was even, and after six consecutive breaks, the game went to a tie break. Alex and Momo made the difference there, winning the match 6-2, 3-6, and 7-6.

"I can't say enough... I want to thank the fans, playing at home and reaching the final is what I've always dreamed of. I want to thank Alex and the rest of the team because when the match was in favor of our opponents who had the serve to win, they helped me get strength from where there was none. In this way, the couple from Malaga reached their first final of the season. This Sunday, they will face the winner of the match between Galan/Lebron and Tapia/Sanyo at home.
