Miguel Lamperti and Edu Alonso were crowned in Mallorca
Miguel Lamperti and Edu Alonso, managed to win the WPT Challenger of Mallorca, after beating Javi Garrido and Anton Sans in the final, in an hour and thirty-six minutes of play.
The couples one and two pre-qualified, faced each other in the Challenger tournament in Mallorca. The victory finally went to the number two seeded, Lamperti and Alonso, who won 6-4 and 7-5 in a very balanced match.
"It's very nice to be able to play on a Sunday; and enjoying with the people is one of the nicest things about padel. I want to congratulate my partner, because it's his first title, and he has an incredible future. I'm very happy for him, it will be the first of many. I love to win, so I'm very happy for this title also, I'm going to Marbella full of energy" said Lamperti after the match.
For Lamperti, it was the second Challenger title of the season, having won the Getafe Challenger alongside Jon Sanz. For the young Edu Alonso (21) it was the first tournament of his professional career.
Both couples were playing together for the first time in this tournament. Lamperti's regular partner, Jon Sanz, was in Italy playing the Premier Padel Italy Major; while Javi Garrido's partner, Lucas Campagnolo, was recovering from an injury.
