Gutierrez and Tapia turn defeat into victory — champions in Denmark

ANNONS

Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez won the Danish Padel Open after turning a deficit into a win in the final against Lucho Capra and Maxi Sanchez.

Lucho Capra and Maxi Sanchez started the match in the best way. The newly formed pair, who won in Valladolid last season, was very convincing and won the first set 7-5.

In the second set, however, favorites Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia took command of the match. With a break up, they won the second set by the same numbers, 7-5.

In the third deciding set, there was no question about it. Tapia and Gutierrez won 6-0.

— We come from two defeats against the number ones. Sometimes, you just need to work on. Today, hard work pays off, said Sanyo Gutierrez in the interview after the game.

The win marks the team's second title of the season. The first came in Reus earlier this year.

— We try to get better every tournament, it was all about attitude. We lost the first set but kept to be united, said Agustin Tapia.

The couple enjoys Scandinavia. They even won the last tournament in Malmö last November.

Now Premier Padel's Italy Major awaits in Rome. A tournament Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez will not be in. Tapia, due to ambiguities with his sponsor Nox, as well as Gutierrez, is expecting his second child in the near future.
