To their first semi-final of the season — Josemaria and Sanchez eliminated

Victoria Iglesias and Aranza Osoro have had a tough start to the season. But in the Danish Open, they showed the class they showed last season when they knocked out Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez in two straight sets. 

The win marks Victoria Iglesias and Aranza Osoro's first semi-final of the season. This compares to the pair's last season where they went to seven semi-finals. 

The last time they reached a semi-final was in October 2021 at the World Padel Tour Cordoba Open. 

The team won the quarter-final against Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez by 6-4, 7-5. For Josemaria and Sanchez, the team has now lost in earlier rounds than usual in two tournaments in a row.

In the Brussels Open, they were eliminated in the Round of 16, and now the world's second-best team was eliminated in the quarterfinals. 

In Saturday's semi-final, Victoria Iglesias and Aranza Osoro will face the winner of the meeting between Patty Llaguno/Virginia Riera and Mapi Alayeto with her temporary new partner Sofia Araujo.
