ANNONS

The tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka has joined the world of padel. The 37-year-old Swiss player has acquired the rights to own one of the tournaments of the international APT Padel Tour circuit for the 2023 season.

Many personalities from other sports are taking an interest in padel. It is increasingly common to see footballers, basketball players, and tennis players who are called to practice and invest in this sport.

This is the case of former world number 3 tennis player Stanislas Wawrinka. The Swiss player is a fan of padel, and has been seen attending competitions such as the APT Master of Acapulco or the Monaco Master played weeks ago.

It was precisely in Monaco, where the Swiss negotiated with the circuit to become the owner of the rights to one of the tournaments on the circuit for next season. Thus, from 2023, Switzerland will join the over 30 existing tournaments of the APT circuit.

"During his last visit to the Hublot Monaco Masters, one of the three best tennis players in the world in 2014, resumed negotiations with the President of the circuit, Fabrice Pastor, for Switzerland to have an APT tournament in 2023. The close relationship between them allowed a quick understanding, and the agreement was certified in the last few hours. Thank you Stan Wawrinka for your trust in APT and welcome!”, the circuit published on its official website.

While the dates and location of the tournament are not yet known, it is confirmed that Switzerland will be one of the hosts of the APT Padel Tour in 2023.
