Arce and Dal Bianco crowned in South Africa

This Sunday, the number one and two couples of the APT ranking, faced each other for the final of the Cape Town Master. Finally, it was Arce and Dal Bianco, after a great comeback, who managed to beat Chiostri and Alfonso, 3/6 7/5 6/3. In this way, the number ones of the ranking achieved to win the first APT title in the history of the African continent.

Franco Dal Bianco and Maxi Arce won the first match of the year between the number one and two ranked couples. In the final of the Cape Town Master, they defeated Chiostri-Alfonso by 3/6 7/5 6/3, winning their second title of the season -the first in the Master category-.

With this victory Dal Bianco and Arce managed to maintain their status as leaders of the ranking, beating their immediate pursuers.

The match started better for the number two couple, who were looking for their first title of the season. In the sixth game of the first set they broke in their favour, to take the set 6/3. In the beginning of the second set, Chiostri and Alfonso broke their opponents' serve again to take the lead. But from there, the number ones improved their game and managed to come back to put the match 1-1.

In the third set, Arce and Dal Bianco gave their opponents no chance, and with a solid game they took the final set by 6/3.

"I'm very excited to have won here in South Africa, since we arrived we felt very comfortable, it's a beautiful city, it's been an incredible event. It was a very difficult match, the guys are fighters, and they play really well". Maximiliano Arce said after the victory.

For their part, Chiostri and Alfonso, lost the chance to snatch the number one ranking from Arce and Dal Bianco for the second time in a row, and have yet to win titles this season. 

The next tournament of the circuit is going to be played in Spain, the APT Master of Seville, from 16 to 22 May.
