Two giant actors join forces — become the largest in the world: ”Very exciting future”

The two Swedish giants, PDL Group and Padel United, are joining forces. The merger between the two club owners makes it the largest padel operator in the world. 

Padel Alto's Swedish sister site PadelDirekt revealed the merger in March. The deal between the two big Swedish actors and club owners, PDL Group and Padel United, is now official. 

They become the largest padel actor in the world.

"We complement each other in a good way in Sweden and have a common vision of the venture that will be rolled out in large parts of the world," says Markus Hellkvist, co-founder of Padel United, in a press release.

According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri, the new group, which currently has no name, will raise 35 million euros to expand into Europe, focusing primarily on the German and UK markets. 

The capital comes from the capital manager Coeli, which was previously a major shareholder in Padel United and who will also be a major shareholder in the new company. 

"With the merger, we see a very exciting future," says Jonas Andersson, co-founder of PDL Group, in the press release. 

The new group will have 118 padel clubs, with 50 new ones opening shortly.
