Barrera and Britos win their second Master

The pair of Barrera and Britos has been crowned champions of the APT Monaco Master, after beating Chiostri and Alfonso in the final in a tough three-set match. In the women's draw, Mireia Herrada and Laia Rodriguez won the title after beating the number 3 seeds Behram and Soleymani 6/3 6/2.

Barrera and Britos showed why they are the best current couple of the APT circuit. The number 4 seeds, managed to win their second consecutive master title by defeating the number 2 ranked couple in the final in Monaco. 

The match started better for Chiostri and Alfonso, who took the first set 6/4. In the next two sets, the pair of Barrera and Britos improved their game and finally won the match by 4/6 6/4 6/4 6/4.

"Luckily we were able to take the match to a third set. I started the match very nervous, and we lost the first set, but we could turn it around. This is thanks to my partner Andres who always supports me" said Barrera after the match.

In this way, they prevented Chiostri and Alfonso from recovering the number one in the ranking, and became the first champions on the European tour of the circuit.

For Barrera and Britos it was the third final of the season and the second consecutive master title, after winning the Buenos Aires master. They only lost the final of the Asuncion Open against No. 1 ranking couple, Dal Bianco and Arce.

In the women's draw, the Spaniards Herrada/Rodriguez, gave the surprise and won the title of master champions. They beat the Swedish couple Soleymani/Behram in the final by 6/3 6/2.
