Josemaria and Sanchez to their fourth consecutive final

ANNONS

In the first shift of the women's semifinals in Alicante, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez faced Marta Marrero and Lucia Sainz. The number two ranked couple gave Lucia Sainz and Marta Marta Marrero no chance and took the match 6-2 6-3.

Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez started the match by playing very concentrated. The last champions didn't give any space and kept the pressure on their rivals to win the first set 6-2.

For their part, Marta Marrero and Lucia Sainz - who have not had the best start of the season (injuries prevented them from taking part in the first tournament of the year, and they had to withdraw from the challenger in Getafe) - were conditioned by their opponents and made a lot of unforced errors.

Marta and Lucia came out to play more aggressively in the second set, trying to win the net. But they found a great Paula Josemaría, who defended masterfully and defined the points at the time. And although, in the eighth game, Marta and Lucia got a break in their favor, the number two couple managed to break back, taking the match 6-2 6-3.

"We've been playing well. To play four tournaments and reach four finals is very difficult. That speaks very well of our current level. Today, we played very well and were very focused. We are very happy," said Paula after the match.

"Tomorrow, no matter who we play with, we will have to focus on playing well, which is our job. We are very fortunate to play our fourth final of the season," Ariana Sanchez.

In this way, the defending champions showed why they are the best couple of the moment, and they advance to Sunday's finals in Alicante, completing a total of 4 finals in 4 tournaments.
