”The Warrior” breaks with his partner: ”Things have not gone as expected”

Mati Diaz (64), or "The Warrior" as he is known, and his partner Aris Patiniotis (112) are separating. After their loss in the Alicante Open qualifier, Mati Diaz announced on his social media. 

”Things have not gone as expected, and we separated our ways,” writes Mati Diaz on Instagram. 

This year, the pair have failed to qualify for any World Padel Tour events. The last match for the pair was a loss in the Alicante Open qualifier against Raul Marcos and Javi Garcia. 

”It is undeniable that the level of the pre-qualifying and qualifying is very high, and if you are not at 100%, it is very difficult to win”, he writes. 

He also reveals that he has had an injury in his knee since the beginning of the season, which has prevented him.

It is unclear who Mati Diaz and Aris Patiniotis will continue their seasons with. 

Aris Patiniotis was absent for most of last season due to an injury and has dropped in the rankings to 112th place. Mati Diaz is currently in 64th place.
