After Roland Garros — third venue official for Premier Padel

ANNONS

On Saturday, Premier Padel announced the prestigious Roland Garros venue in Paris. Now the next venue has been announced: The Argentina Premier Padel P1 will take place 8-14 of August.

The competition in Argentina will be of Type 2, and it will be the first in that category to be organized. Both the first competition, the Qatar Major, and the upcoming one in Paris are in category 1 (Major), which means more ranking points and higher prize money.

Argentina Premier Padel P1 will take place between 8-14 of August.

Luigi Carraro, the President of the International Padel Federation, in a press release sent by FIP on Monday:

“We are delighted to bring a Premier Padel P1 tournament to Argentina. We know the passion, love, and support this sport has received in the country over many decades, so it fills me with great joy that Argentina will host a premium tournament with the world’s leading players taking part on an annual basis. I would also like to extend my thanks to Asociación Padel Argentino – the only official association for padel in Argentina recognized by FIP – for their partnership to bring the Argentina Premier Padel P1 tournament to life. We can’t wait to bring Premier Padel to Argentina in August.”

According to the same press release, the agreement between Premier Padel and the Argentine Padel Federation is part of a multi-year contract.

The venue for the competition is currently not official, but more information about the competition will be announced soon.

”Argentina Premier Padel P1 becomes the first category two tournament to be announced by the new global tour, with a series of other tournament announcements scheduled over the coming weeks”, the press release states.

Premier Padel will, in 2022, play at least ten competitions, including four Majors (type 1). The Qatar Major was held last week, and in July, the tour will be played at Roland Garros, Paris. Today's news is the third venue to become official.
