The semifinals of the Getafe Challenger 2022 are defined.

The quarterfinals of the Getafe Challenger 2022 finished this Friday, and the pairings qualified for Saturday's semifinals are already known.

 

In the women's draw, 3 of the 4 favorites will meet in the semifinals, looking for a place in Sunday's final. Meanwhile, in the men's draw - with most of the top-ranked pairings participating in the Qatar Major 2022 - top seeds Lamperti and Sanz will advance unchallenged.

All the matches can be watched live, starting at 10:00 am (Local) through the WPT TV app.

 

 

Women's draw

 

The first seeds, Marta Marrero and Lucia Sainz, defeated Anna Cortiles and Xenia Clasca, 6-3 and 6-1. In the semifinal, from 16:30h (Local) they will face the couple of Carla Mesa and Claudia Jensen who, in the first round of the morning, managed to turn the result against Lorena Rufo and Sofia Araujo and took the match, 1-6 6-4 6-2. 

 

In the first round of the semifinals on Saturday, starting at 10:00 am (Local), the second vs. the third pre-qualified pair will face each other. The S. Alayetto twins reached the semifinals after defeating Carmen Goenaga and Beatriz Caldera in a very even match, 7-5 6-4. On the other hand, the number two seeds, Marta Ortega and Beatriz Gonzalez, did not suffer any problems and defeated Las Heras and Virseda in two straight sets, 4-6 2-6.

 

 

Men's draw

 

Piñeyro and Martinez (3) did their work, and advanced to the other semifinal by defeating the couple of Piotto and Alfaro (8) by 6-4, 6-2. Tomorrow morning, in the second round, they will face the couple of García and Bautista (7), who defeated the couple of Mendez and Oria (2) in a very tough three-set match, 6-7 6-3 6-3.

 

In the match that will close the day, in the second round of the afternoon, the favorites to win the tournament, Miguel Lamperti and Jon Sanz (1) - who defeated today without problems, 6-4 6-2, the couple of Chamero and Santigosa in the quarterfinals – will face Jimenez / Huete (11); that this Friday morning defeated Solano and Blanco (4) by 6-4 /6-4.
