Triay and Salazar win after being behind - Face number two in final
In the semifinal of the afternoon shift, Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar defeated Mapi and Majo Sanchez Alayeto by 4-6/6-1/6-4. Tomorrow at 10:00 am they will face the couple of Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria for the final of the WPT Vigo Open.
The match began very evenly, although Gemma and Alejandra weren't comfortable in the match. In the 5th game Mapi and Majo broke their opponents' serve to take a 3-2 lead, an advantage they kept until the end and took the set 6-4.
In the second set Alejandra Salazar began to settle in the match, and the number ones managed to break their opponents' first two serves to take the set 6-1.
In the final part of the match Gemma began to get stronger at the net, and the number ones showed all their power by winning the first four games. And although the twins tried to react, Gemma and Alejandra finally closed the set 6-4 in their favour.
The final score was 4-6/6-1/6-4 in favour of Triay and Salazar in 2:10 hours.
"Ale has pulled the match through, I've just been at her side, she seems to be getting better every day" said Gemma.
In the other semi-final Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria defeated the couple of Riera and LLaguno 5-7/1-6. Therefore, on Sunday at 10:00hs (Local), the number one couple will face the number two for the 3rd consecutive time in a final this season.
"The final that we will play tomorrow has been repeated these last years, and we know each other very well, we know how to play against Ari and Paula, they are a great couple" said Alejandra after the match.
