Playtomic grows — acquires Finnish competitor

Playtomic has become one of the world's leading booking platforms for padel in just a few years. Now the Madrid-based company is acquiring its Finnish counterpart, SL Systems Oy. 

Spanish Playtomic has, during its five years, rapidly expanded around the world to become one of the leading racket sports platforms. The startup based in Madrid has more than 4,600 clubs connected to the application. 

With the Finnish SL Systems Oy acquisition, Playtomic moves from market leader to the dominant actor in the Finnish market for padel and tennis software.

“The deal further strengthens Playtomic´s existing footprint in Finland as we are obtaining 95% of the market share, and it allows us to address the surge in popularity of padel and to digitalize the tennis industry in the country.”, says Pablo Carro, Co-Founder of Playtomic in a press release. 

The press release states that the Nordic countries are a high-priority market for Playtomic. To reflect the region's importance and meet its specific needs and opportunities, a new Nordic organization was established during the second part of 2021.
