Sanyo and Tapia with an easy win in their debut in Vigo

Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia, debuted in Vigo in the best possible way, beating the pair of Lamperti and Sanz in two sets.

The number one couple of the Race 2022, Agustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez, made their debut at the WPT Vigo Open in great form, showing why they have been so far, the best couple of this season. In a rematch of the quarter-final game in Reus, they defeated Miguel Lamperti and Jon Sanz 6-3, 6-0 in one hour.

In the first set, the game began evenly balanced, Lamperti and Sanz tried to take benefit of the Vigo court conditions - slightly faster than in the previous two tournaments - and tried to take advantage with the power of their smash. But Sanyo and Tapia were very patient, and with tight lobs to the back of the court and playing low balls, they got the first break of the match in the fourth game. From then on it was all for the champions, who finished the set with 21 winners in just 9 games.

The second set began in the same way, with Tapia and Gutierrez full of confidence, and breaking all their opponents' games to take the second set 6-0 in just 27 minutes.

 "Vigo is always good for me, I won here with Maxi and also with Bela. We are playing in a very regular way and we are ready to keep this line throughout the season" said Sanyo after the match. 

"We came prepared to play a final, and I think we proved it today" said Tapia.
