Cristian Gutiérrez and Maxi Sánchez will continue this APT season together.

The 2022 APT season is about to begin, and without a doubt, one of the most exciting pairs on the circuit is the one formed by the experienced Cristian Gutiérrez, 43, ranked 20 in the APT ranking; and the young padel star Maxi Sánchez,19, 9 in the APT ranking. The pair began playing together in mid-2021 at the Monaco Open and finished the 2021 season with good results.

Both players have confirmed that they will continue together in 2022. In addition, they talked about what makes them strong as a pair, the goals for this year, and their relationship off the court.

About what led them to continue this 2022 together, the players stated:

“I believe that what led us to continue betting was having finished the 2021 season in a good way, having good results, and getting along well on and off the field”, says Maxi Sanchez on his social media.

“We have played for half a year and the truth is that I really liked sharing the court as well as sharing time with him out of the court,” says Cristian Gutierrez.

The players also referred to their goals for this season:

“The objective at a personal level is always to improve aspects of the game to offer Maxi solutions in the games,” says Gutierrez.

“Personally, the goal is to always be at the top of the ranking,” says Sanchez.

 And they continue:

“We are still at a time when we can adapt better, which is the main key. I can give him the experience in difficult situations, and he has to continue going through challenging situations to resolve important moments in the game. If he manages to solve these problems, he will be a complete player because he has plenty of quality and strength”, says Gutierrez.

“The keys as a couple are to take advantage of all of Cristian's experience on the court, and for me, to give everything to have good results.” Maxi Sanchez says.

The pair will debut on the APT circuit at the Asuncion Open in Paraguay on March 13.
