Last year's winners, Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar, immediately made great efforts at the World Padel Tour premiere in Miami. They were never really threatened in the final against Ari Sanchez/Paula Josemaria and won 6-2, 6-2.

Well in the final the number one´s showed their class. It was last year's ones against two's in the final of the first event of the season, the Miami Padel Open. Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar won the final easily 6-2, 6-2, and were never threatened.

The match started better for Sánchez and Josemaría, who began the first set by a break serve and won their own serve, leading 2-0. But Triay and Salazar reacted by winning 6 games in a row and took the first set 6-2 after 41 minutes of play.

In the second set, the number one couple was very solid. And although Ariana and Paula broke their rivals' serve twice, they were unable to hold their own serve in any game and, with a fantastic Gemma Triay, the number one´s took the set 6-2.

— The area of the net is where I feel the most comfortable, but I can be their thanks to Alejandra who covers my back, we work very well in that way. Very happy to win our first title, Gemma Triay said.

Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez didn't reach the same level as earlier in the tournament and accounted for several unforced errors throughout the match.

— We have had a very good tournament and we played with a lot of confidence, very comfortable. I will have to take care of myself more than ever this year, there will be many games. It has been a luxury to be in Miami, Alejandra Salazar said after their first victory of the season.
