Ale Galan about WPT: ”They never listen to us”

ANNONS
Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron are out of the Miami Open. After the match, both criticized the World Padel Tour harshly via their social media accounts.
”They never listen to us or give us answers,” writes Alejandro Galan on his Instagram.

Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron lost heavily in last night's round of 16 to Javi Garrido and Lucas Campagnolo. But the aftermath has been about anything but the loss.

During the morning, Juan Lebron took to his social media to criticize both the World Padel Tour and one of the organizers Wayne Boich who gave himself a wildcard, and the Miami crowd, who repeatedly misbehaved against the world's best pair.

Now Alejandro Galan has taken to his social media to do the same.

”It is a pity that the players have to use this tool to communicate, but when we communicate to the WPT, they never listen to us or give us answers. We ask for RESPECT for the players and the sport”.

Alejandro Galan is the president of the Professional Players Association (PPA), which has taken a clear stance on the International Padel Federation's new tour that starts at the end of March.

”Today, the WPT allowed some embarrassing behavior from some specific fans. Some fans directly insulted my partner and me”, writes Alejandro Galan.

”Psychical problems.”

He also says that he had physical problems during the pre-season.

”I decided that the best thing for a professional competition is to travel 4-5 days before. This requires financial difficulties - with the prizes we have - win the tournament or lose money”.

Then he tells us more about the whole situation during the Miami Padel Open.

”Instead of going in at the time our game was scheduled, they wanted to put on a show that would last for 15 to 20 minutes, and we had to warm up for a second time. The time was not enough for them. The time went up to 50 minutes, so we had to warm up for the third time. This is not the best for someone with an injury”.

As well as criticizing the World Padel Tour, he also, like Juan Lebron, criticizes the crowd and one of the organizers Wayne Boich who gave himself a wild card to the main tournament and the public in Miami.

”We suffered innumerable disrespects during the game. We communicated it to our opponents who know these people and, above all, to the referee. We pointed out those responsible and asked the referee and the player to take measures to protect players from disrespect”.

And continues:

”The response was that we should bear it. We resumed the game because we wanted to continue, but there were no solutions. The next decision where we asked for video review, a local player (who received a WC) repeatedly disrespected us again. We asked the referee again (who agreed with us but said he was not allowed to make those decisions) and the organization to give us a solution. There wasn't any”, Alejandro Galan writes.
