The star will miss first WPT tournament — not fully recovered

ANNONS
Tamara Icardo will not be able to play the first tournament of the 2022 World Padel Tour in Miami. The reason is the injury she sustained to her hand during the Malmö Padel Open last season. This was announced by the official website of the World Padel Tour on Wednesday.

The Valencian player injured her right hand during the Malmö Padel Open last November. This forced her to undergo surgery and miss the biggest tournament of the year, the Master Final in Madrid, where Eli Amatriain replaced the star alongside Tamara Icardo's partner Delfi Brea.

Icardo has been training since then to try to be on time for the new season's debut, but she has not been able to recover 100%.

Therefore, she will not risk Miami, and her debut in 2022 will have to wait.

Last year was a successful year for Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea. Together they won two Open tournaments, one at home in Valencia and one in Santander.

Tamara Icardo finished sixth in last year's Race of 2021. Now she is focused on playing the second tournament of the year, in Reus, Spain. It is unclear who will play alongside Delfi Brea during the Miami Open.
