The World Padel Tour is coming to Stockholm, Sweden, this spring. At a press conference, the Swedish Padel Open revealed that the competition will be played at Tele2 Arena, the home ground of two of Stockholm's major football clubs. The venue is confirmed by Swedish Padel Open's CEO Urban Johansson to the Swedish site PadelDirekt.

Yesterday Padel Alto wrote about Belgium's first World Padel Tour Open tournament and that they are aiming to bring in a total of 50,000 people in the area for the tournament to be played in May.

Today, news of another new venue for the World Padel Tour in Sweden's capital Stockholm was announced. It is already official that there will be two World Padel Tour Opens in Sweden in 2022. One in Malmö as in 2021, but also one in Stockholm. On Wednesday, the venue was revealed, and the Open will be played at Stockholm's second-largest football stadium, Tele 2 Arena, with a capacity of 30,000 people.

The competition is called Stockholm LeDap Open and will be held in April.

The organizers Swedish Padel Open has not communicated any information. But when PadelDirekt reaches the CEO Urban Johansson by phone, he confirms the venue and asks to comment more later in the day.

Currently, Sweden has covid restrictions that mean only 500 people are allowed at major events. These restrictions apply until further notice.
