Javi Ruiz forced to withdrew Sardegna Open: ”A personal and professional blow”

ANNONS
Javi Ruiz has been struggling with injuries lately. He and his new partner Arturo Coello made it to the semi-finals in Malaga but were forced to withdraw. It is now clear that the pair will miss the Sardegna Open due to medical reasons.

”It's a personal and professional blow because Sardegna is a special tournament, and I have great memories from there,” writes Javi Ruiz on his Instagram.

The setback is for medical reasons, he confirms and comes after the team was forced to abandon the tournament in Malaga after making it to the semi-finals. It is unclear if this has any connection to the injury Javi Ruiz sustained then.

The last time the team was on the padel court was last Friday during the quarter-finals of the Cascais Masters. They lost to finalists Juan Tello and Federico Chingotto in two straight sets.

”I want to thank Arturo Coello for his support and his understanding, and I will give my best to come back as soon as possible and give him the performance he deserves,” writes Javi Ruiz.

Arturo Coello writes on his Instagram:

”You will come back stronger. I have no doubt”.

Javi Ruiz, 16th-ranked on World Padel Tour, started the season with Uri Botello. After a weak start to the season, he changed partner, and since the Las, Rozas Open has been playing with Arturo Coello, who started the season with Miguel Lamperti. Ruiz's best results of the year are two semi-final places. One in the Marbella Masters with Uri Botello and then one in the Malaga Open with Arturo Coello.

It is still unclear what medical reasons prevent Javi Ruiz from participating in Italy.

The main tournament of the Sardegna Open starts tomorrow when the team should have faced a winner in Previa. If the team had won it, it would have faced Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron on Thursday.
