Javi Ruiz injured and forced to withdraw — Lima and Tapia to the final

ANNONS
MALAGA. Javi Ruiz suffered an injury during Friday's quarter-final against Franco Stupazcuk and Alex Ruiz. Now he is forced to withdraw from his second semifinal of the year. That means that Pablo Lima and Agustin Tapia are through to the final in Malaga Open.

Following medical tests after Friday's quarter-final, it was announced today that Javi Ruiz and Arturo Coello would be forced to withdraw from the tournament.

The pair have beaten Juan Mieres/Martin Pineiro, Juan Lebron/Alejandro Galan, and Franco Stupazcuk/Alex Ruiz to reach the semi-finals.

— We can not enjoy the semi-final because of a physical problem with my partner. We must keep all the good things, which are many in this tournament, writes Arturo Coello on his instagram.

It is unclear in which part of the body Javi Ruiz is injured. The semi-final would be the pair's first together in their second tournament together. Arturo Coello has been in two semi-finals earlier this year with Miguel Lamperti in the Madrid Open and Alicante Open. Javi Ruiz has been in a semi-final with former partner Uri Botello in the Marbella Masters.

The announcement means that Pablo Lima and Agustin Tapia are through to their second final in a row after winning in Las Rozas Open.

In the other semi-final, Federico Chingotto/Juan Tello och Paquito Navarro/Martin Di Nenno faces each other. That match will be played tonight after the second women's semi-final between Paula Josemaria/Ariana Sanchez and Tamara Icardo/Delfi Brea. That match will start at 5 pm local Spanish time.
