Icardo and Brea dominated the semi-final — on to the final

ANNONS
MALAGA. Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea are ready for their third final of the season. After dominating in the semi-finals of the Malaga Open against the best pair of the year, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez.

The first set looked controlled, and the pair were able to win 6-3. Tamara Icardo's defensive play was in a class of its own, and at times it looked impossible to win the point against the Valencia Open winners.

In the second set, the pair completely dominated until 5-1. Once there, they had two match points. Then nerves kicked in, and the best pair of the year, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez, were allowed to enter the match.

The 5-1 lead went to 5-4 before Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea settled. Now they are ready for their third final of the season. The pair have won both the finals they have been in, both in the Santander Open and the Valencia Open. Places where the conditions are similar to those in Malaga.

The defensively stable padel wins in Malaga, something that Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea like.

This means that tomorrow we will see a repeat of the Valencia Open final. Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea against Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar. Icardo and Brea were the strongest team then.
