ANNONS
Ever dreamed of playing padel at a shopping center in London? Soon it will be a reality for the Londoners. Three permanent padel courts will open at Westfield London by this Christmas.
This writes The Capital West London in a press release.

Sweden has already done it. There you can play padel on the roof of the exclusive NK shopping center. Now London doesn't want to be worse.

Londoners will soon be playing padel at the luxurious mall Westfield London in the west part of the city.

The project is led by Edinburgh-based Game4Padel, which has facilities in England, Scotland and Wales. The company is backed financially by the tennis player Andy Murray and by this Christmas, three permanent padel courts will open. In addition, two pop-up courts will be built.

Westfield has agreed on a 10-year lease deal with Game4Padel.

Michael Gradon, Co-founder and Chief Executive of Game4Padel, comment the news in a press release in The Capital West London:

“We see huge potential for padel facilities in premium UK leisure and retail developments so to have signed this deal with Europe’s biggest and best shopping destination is a real boost”.

He continues to talk about the future of padel:

”The explosive growth of padel around the world gives us great confidence in its prospects here in the UK. It is an incredibly fun and addictive game that is easy for beginners to pick up quickly, so the more people who start to see facilities like this one opening all around the country, the faster it will grow, and the more people will have the chance to experience the physical and mental health benefits associated with this kind of activity.”

There are currently 100 courts around Britain, but the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the governing body for padel in the UK, has forecast a 400% growth in the number of courts by 2023.
